아이템 보기(Back text transcription; OCR-assisted, verify if needed) FIELD # A-131289 ORGAN. 1st MAW LOCATION. Seoul, Korea DATE April 29, 51 BY TSgt Vance Jobe For the third time in a year, thousands of Seoul residents left their homes as threatening columns of Communist troops closed in on the capital city. Strapp- ing only their necessary worldly goods on their backs, the Koreans again hit the refugee trail as they quietly gat- hered at the north bank of the Han river, waiting their turn to cross the his- toric waters to safer areas to the south. This time, they walked over a narrow plank bridge laid on pontoons. Travel was slow as civilian police spaced out the crossers into small groups to keep heavy weights off the boardwalk. Some of the refugees were ferried across the Han in small boats. DEFENSE DEPT PHOTO (MARINE CORPS) # A-131289 BY TSgt Vance Jobe
